Iso-Naappila Farm
Iso-Naappila Farm is located in Asikkala, Hollola, just 30 minutes from Lahti. Besides offering accommodation in cosy traditional Finnish cottages, the farm offers programmes based on Finnish nature and Finnish traditions! The 2-hour Crafting with flowers and natural materials course is ideal for 5-20 persons. You’ll explore the secrets of the local forest and create decorations from items found in the forest and flowers! You will learn different techniques and the use of different materials so you can make decorations for your home or as gifts! The course is held in an idyllic Finnish countryside location and also includes lunch.
Winter swimming experience
Winter swimming is a great traditional, Finnish way to keep fit. You are welcome to meet a local winter swimming enthusiast Tiina and to join her swimming routine! You’ll learn about winter swimming and get to dip into the icy water. A warm shower is available afterwards, if you like – but surely you don’t need it: you will feel absolutely great after the dip. The swimmign experience is ideal for 1-4 persons and available year round. Also bigger groups possible, please request a quotation.
Cosy visit to Finnish home
During this visit, you have a unique opportunity to learn about everyday life in Finland: its nature, culture and food! Depending on the season, your host family will take you for a walk through a beautiful forest. You will eat a picnic lunch, including traditional Finnish sausages and salad around an open fire. After a slow walk back, you are invited to pop into a Finnish home, where you will learn about Finnish lifestyle, take a look around the house and bake a delicious blueberry pie together with your host! After baking, it is time to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with the freshly baked pie! The 2,5-hour visit is ideal for 2-8 persons.

Ski Museum and the Ski Jump Tower observation terrace are a unique combination you’ll find only in Lahti. Both the museum and the ski jumps are located in Lahti Sports Centre, just 5 minutes from the city centre.
Special architecture and design tours in Lahti
Sibelius Hall is a true masterpiece of modern wooden architecture, combining the historic carpentry factory with modern architecture. The hall is the home of Lahti Symphony Orchestra and many kinds of concerts, congresses and events. On a guided tour of the house you’ll have a chance to take a peek behind the scenes and hear interesting stories about the house. It is ideal to add a guided walking tour in the hall surroundings, as well – there you can find an international Wood Architecture Park and Pro Puu, a gallery and handicraft shop of Finnish carpenters. About all this you’ll hear about on ourt Ode to Wood tour. In Lahti you can also find Alvar Aalto design; the Church of the Cross is located in Lahti city centre. There are also many other architectural tours available, e.g. Jugend style architecture walk hosted by an Lahti City Museum expert and a guided visit to Lanu Sculpture Park, an intriguing urban park in the middle of the city. Art workshops with local artists
Artist Paula Eight is a well-known line play illustrator and graphic artist. Paula’s art is powered by people and meetings between two persons. The 3-hour Line play – a portrait workshop using croquis techniques is ideal for 6-20 persons. You’ll test your skills as a Picasso! See your friends or colleagues with new eyes! During the workshop you’ll create portrait interpretations by using croquis techniques: a quick and sketched drawing of a live model. After the workshop your drawing can be used as the foundation for another work of art, such as a painting, or it may be used as a work of art itself! Previous experience is not required!
Travelling Press-Journeyman
Visit a traditional printmaking studio Painovoima in Lahti. You will get acquainted with the traditional equipment and techniques with local printmakers and, after a little practice, you will print a card, bag or t-shirt to take with you! Painovoima also offers your group a chance to print your own theme / logo material. Meeting and workshop facilities also available for up to 50 people. Painovoima arranges also monotype workshops.
Local tastes – from fields to plates and glasses

Teerenpeli Brewery and Distillery
Teerenpeli Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Finland and currently the clear market leader in Finnish Single Malt Whiskies. Its whiskies have been granted several international awards and in 2020 Teerenpeli was nominated the Best Whiskey Distillery of the Year by The International Wine and Spirit Competition IWSC. Teerenpeli operates two original Scottish pot still distilleries, both located in Lahti. The
original Teerenpeli Distillery was founded in 2002 in Lahti city centre inside restaurant Taivaanranta, where the distillery showroom is today open for visitors during the restaurant opening hours. The showroom offers visitors an interesting insight into whiskey distilling processes, raw materials and close views of the copper pot stills and maturation cellars. The 1-hour tour with a tasting is available for groups of 1-10 persons.
Hartwall Brewery Visitors' Centre
Hartwall Visitor Centre was opened in the spring 2019. During an hour-long guided tour you will learn about the company’s history and local raw materials, and get to taste soft drinks. Beer tasting is also possible for an extra charge. We also offer tailored tours for groups! Country Gourmet Tour
We’ve taken our local gourmet tour and kicked it up a notch by adding unique local wine and beer pairings as well as flavoured mineral waters! Your tour begins from the main building, where you’ll learn intriguing facts about local food and beer. The tour includes seven stops in the forest with generous tastings in each! This tour will delight your taste buds… The menu includes local seasonal ingredients, sausages made from the farm’s own beef, flavoured mineral waters and beers from a local brewery and berry wines from a local winery.
